In this newly established position, the Manager of Business Development will report directly to the Regional Hub Director in Chicago. The role involves recruiting and nurturing a team of 10-15 Business Development Managers (BDRs).
The ideal candidate is recognized as an exceptional coach, dedicated to guiding others toward sales success. They possess an in-depth understanding of our product portfolio and the strategies needed to outperform competitors, imparting this knowledge effectively to their team. As a leader, they prioritize the collective success of One Zebra over individual accomplishments.
This role is required to be onsite out of our Chicago office 5 days per week.
Responsibilities:
Team Building and Strategic Leadership: Lead the creation and development of Zebra’s new Business Development Inside Sales team, formulating strategies to reliably achieve or surpass sales quotas.
Recruitment: Spearhead the recruitment process by interviewing and hiring top-tier candidates to join the Business Development team.
Operational Management: Supervise and manage the daily operations and KPIs of the Business Development team to ensure optimal performance.
Sales Coaching and Development: Coach and mentor Business Development Representatives to refine their sales skills and ensure the consistent application of best practices.
Goal Setting and Achievement: Establish individual and team goals, monitor progress, and implement necessary adjustments to maintain operational excellence.
Collaboration with Enabling Functions: Partner with marketing, sales operations, training, and IT to support and align team efforts with broader company objectives.
Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews to enhance representative performance and address underperformance effectively.
High-Performance Culture Promotion: Foster a results-driven, resilient, and accountable team environment to drive high performance and success.
- Onsite Leadership and Engagement: Maintain a strong presence by working in-person at the Chicago hub five days a week to build rapport with the inside sales teams.
Qualifications:
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 8 + years of B2B sales experience selling technology-related offerings, ideally to also include sales leadership of teams (inside or outside)
- Demonstrated experience in project management with a strong emphasis on coaching and mentoring, coupled with a passion for developing, motivating, and managing a team of sales professionals
- Must be able to work out of Zebra’s downtown Chicago office 5 days per week. Little to no outside travel expected
Preferred
- Supervisory experience
- Experience in strategic planning and execution
- Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Highly proficient computer skills including email, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Knowledge of technology, including software, hardware, and/or networking preferred
- Ability to influence and inspire on behalf of the business and influence and operate cross-functionally to drive the growth of the business
- Showcasing a strong ability to energize and lead individuals across various experience levels.
- Excellent time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, and organizational skills

Salary: USD 139800.00 - USD 209800.00 Yearly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement. In most other roles, the Zebra annual cash incentive program links Company and individual performance together. Some roles may also be eligible for long-term incentive equity awards.
