The Health and Services Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Computer Vision/Machine Learning Intern to work in our Warfighter Performance program supporting the Operational Readiness Directorate at the Naval Health Research Center. In this role, you will use your expertise to support the Physical and Cognitive Operational Research team’s neuroscience efforts to Warfighter readiness and performance through computer vision and machine learning.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Tackle complex problems in Computer Vision for projects related to neuroscience and warfighter performance under the direction of the senior investigator.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and MATLAB, knowledge of deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and OpenCV, and expertise in image processing techniques like filtering, edge detection, and segmentation.
- Conduct high-quality data labeling for effective CV model training.
- Integrate vision models into real-world applications with scalable solutions.
- Use professional problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and critical thinking to tackle real-world challenges and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
Basic Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Ability to work onsite in San Diego, CA (some telework allowable upon approval from the government customer)
- Active enrollment in a graduate program in a relevant field
- A graduate level understanding of linear algebra, calculus, and optimization techniques and their applications for tackling complex problems in Computer Vision.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and MATLAB, knowledge of deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and OpenCV, and expertise in image processing techniques like filtering, edge detection, and segmentation.
- Broad knowledge, skills, and experience in high-quality data annotation and labeling for effective CV model training.
- Knowledge and experience in integrating vision models into real-world applications with scalable solutions.
- Ability to demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication skills, critical thinking skills. Demonstration of creativity and original solutions for problem-solving. Demonstrate attention to detail in tasking.

– Active Secret Clearance

Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
